The Haunted Hotel 2021 Review (Sept. 11th)

Location: 3000 South 4th Street, Louisville, KY 40208

Overall Score: 9/10

  • Cast/Actors: 10

  • We would like to start our Review off with giving every single Actor, Crew Member, and the Security Team a HUGE KUDOS!!!! The entire Cast was on top of their game during our visit! The creep factor was for sure turned up a notch as well this Season, and we loved every minute of it!!! The energy of the Cast was alive and well at the Haunted Hotel level you would expect. This Season we were greeted with a new face as we entered the Hotel Lobby. Lydia (Aidan Cowgell) did an awesome job at giving us the very creepy details of what was to come during our stay at The Haunted Hotel. Once we were told the rules of our stay we were then led to the very dark Elevator that we all know so very well! Once inside we were greeted by our Elevator Operator Gage (Curtis Reynolds) who turned the creep factor up to 100 during our visit! The Elevator is always our favorite and is never a let down! Kudos Gage!!! Once we "landed" on our floor for the night we were then released into the very strange yet hauntingly awesome Haunted Hotel! During our stay we encountered many new inhabitants who were very glad to see us. Everyone did an awesome job and kept the energy levels extreme which we always love to see! Shout outs are in line for the Spider Suite girls, as they killed it during our visit! We really enjoyed Autumn, as she introduced one of our Group Members to her new Pet Spider Hairy before we exited the Hotel down the stairs. We would also like to give a Kudos Shout Out to the Chainsaw Guys, as they were kicking butt and scaring the crap out of each Hotel Guest we seen running and screaming out the Haunt.

  • Customer Service: 10

  • Customer Service is always on point and AMAZING during our visits! We are always Welcomed as we approach the ticket window and are always Thanked as we are leaving the Haunt. The Staff at The Haunted Hotel are always available and willing to help you out in time of need.

  • Scare Rating: 9

  • The scares during our visit were very good! During our visit we encountered many different scares this Season. Some of those scares included startle scares, whether that be from an animatronic, an air blaster in total darkness, and even almost being eaten alive by a giant bug scared the crap out of us! Kudos to Curtis Reynolds (Gage - The Elevator Operator) for an awesome job at keeping that creep factor at 100%.

  • Atmosphere: 10

  • The atmosphere of the Haunt is by far one of my favorites that I have encountered thus far this Season. The Hotel has such amazing detail that it transports you into the sets and makes you feel as if you are really about to check into an abandoned Haunted Hotel inhabited by deranged killers! Every year the details of the sets get better and better. Kudos is in store for the Build/Design Crew for sure! The age of the building helps give the Haunted Hotel the creep factor and just pulls you into the storyline better. The staircase to travel to the second floor is by far the best! We just love the old creepy Hotel vibes we get off of it.

  • Special Effects: 8

  • During our Journey this Season we did encounter some special effects. The effects did help set the mood for a few scenes that we visited! Special effects that we encountered included, lighting effects, fog effects, noise effects, moving floors, and very awesome music effects. I don't want to spoil too much, as you must experience these effects in person yourself!

  • Value: 10

  • The value is always worth it every year we visit. The waits can get a bit long at times throughout the Season, but this is typical for a Haunt of this popularity in the Louisville area. We were able to walk at a steady pace through the Haunt, and were not rushed. Well worth the wait and travel for sure!

  • New Scenes: 9

  • This year we did encounter a few new scenes throughout the Hotel on the inside and a few new scenery items and different pathways in the outside area. I don't want to give too much away, but believe me, you won't be disappointed with the new additions. They fit perfectly within the Haunted Hotel vibes and we loved it!

  • Time Inside Haunt: 9

  • Our Journey through the Hotel took us about 25 mins. This gave our group plenty of time to venture through the Hotel, enjoy our scares and the scenery around us without running into other groups inside the Haunt.
