Cast/Actors: 8
This was our first visit to The Dent Schoolhouse, and we decided to visit on a Special Event Night, and would just like to say the Cast that was present did an Awesome Job! We visited during the Friday the 13th Event, so as soon as we arrived on property Jason was there waiting for us to enter the line so he could torment us as we waited our turn to enter The Schoolhouse! Along side Jason was "Mr.Clean" aka Charlie the Janitor welding his giant Monkey Wrench as guests waited in line. Charlie did an awesome job at popping up on guests in line including our group and giving us a startle! Once we entered the Schoolhouse we knew there was no turning back, we were enrolled and sent straight to detention! One thing that we really enjoyed was the jump scares. These were very unexpected, as most of the Actors that gave us those scares were blended so well into the scenery we had no clue who was real and who was an animatronic. :) Kudos as well to all the Actors in the Schoolhouse that were performing stunts, such as flying through the air above us, and even the Actress that was pulled into the ceiling! Despite the light cast, we really did enjoy the Characters that we came across.
Customer Service: 8
Upon our arrival we were greeted by Security who was very friendly with us and asked us which tickets we had purchased, and once we told Her she then directed us to which line we were to get in. As we approached the gate to enter the main que line we were greeted once again to have our tickets scanned by the ticket taker, and were thanked and then sent to the photo booth, with our Jason Masks that were being handed out to the first 113 guests. After waiting in line we were greeted once again by a new Gentleman who let us through the gates to enter the Haunt once it was our turn to enter. We were greeted and told to Enjoy our Visit as we were sent on our way. Towards the end of our visit we had a minor hiccup, but Bud with Management and the Security Team swiftly stepped in and rectified the situation. A Big Thanks goes out to the Team that helped assist us during this situation.
Scare Rating: 8
During our visit through The Dent we encountered many jump scare or animatronic type scares. We also encountered many different hidden jump scares by the Actors as well. This was really effective as you walked through the scenes wondering where or when a Staff Member or Student was going to pop out!
Atmosphere: 9.5
The atmosphere inside the Schoolhouse was AMAZING!!! There were so many creepy and amazing details it was so hard to figure out where to look! :) Kudos goes out to the Design Team for sure! Such hard work and time went into designing each scene, and you can defiantly tell! The building inside and out pulls you right into the old schoolhouse feel. We LOVED every scene we came across!
Special Effects: 9.5
Special effects we in full effect during our visit! We encountered many different special effects such as video projections, video effects, startle effects, animatronic effects, water effects, fog and more! The special effects we encountered really did help pull us into the Atmosphere and gave us a scare here and there for sure! Our favorite special effects we encountered were the flying ghost spirit actor as well as the actor tat was pulled up into the ceiling! EPIC!!!!
Value: 8.5
For visiting the Haunt during a Special Event and being towards the end of the Haunt Season we feel that the price we paid was worth it. Having drove two and a half hours from Louisville to The Dent Schoolhouse, we do feel was worth our price for Admission, despite the hiccup we encountered.
New Scenes: N/A
This was our first visit to The Dent Schoolhouse, so we are unsure at this time what new scenes were added vs last Season.
Time Inside Haunt: 7.5
Our Journey through the Haunt took us about 25 to 30 minutes to complete. The longest we waited was in the que line, but we enjoyed every moment of our visit! While waiting in the que line you are surrounded by lots of eye candy!! The que line takes you on a journey through the Dent Schoolhouse Fall Festival, where you will encounter the many different vendors set up at the Festival! This was an amazing way to spend our time in the que line, and along our journey we encountered many different selfie stations.
COVID-19 Safety Protocols: 9
COVID-19 protocols we defiantly present during our visit. All Guests, Actors, and Staff are required to wear Face Coverings at all times, and all were doing so during our visit. Hand sanitizer stations were available throughout the Haunt in many locations, and all Actors practiced the 6 feet distance during our visit.
