Sinister Tombs 2022 Review (Oct. 7th)

Location: 3246 Meeting Creek Road Eastview, KY 42732

Overall Score: 9/10

  • Cast/Actors: 9

  • This Seasons Cast did an amazing job at making sure we were all either entertained or creeped out for sure!!! Most of the Cast we noticed were new this year, but you could not tell as each and every one rocked it out! With the Covid restrictions being lifted the Cast was for sure back to their normal selves, which made for such an enjoyable visit. For the most part the storyline is the same as past Seasons, but there were a few new Characters added in. One Character that we noticed right off was a New Witch type Character in a New Hansel & Gretel scene. This Character was a little soft spoken, but with a little time, she will fit this new character perfectly! During our Journey through the Haunt this Season we came across many different types of Creatures. Some that Welcomed us, some that warned us that Certain Doom was Ahead, some that didn't want us in their homes, and some that we had no clue what they were doing, but that added to the Creep factor for sure!! Being an interactive style Haunt, each Character kept to their dialog and it fit well with what was going on around them. We loved how each Character interacted with us, even when we would throw in some improve at them, they would take it in and give it right back to us in the style that their Character would react. A few Characters we would like to shout out are Catlyn Aubrey in the "Autopsy Room". We love seeing Catlyn each Season and she didn't let us down as she always gives us an amazing show each Season! We LOVE IT!!! We would also like to give a shout out to a new character that we encountered as we entered the second room of the Haunt, Crazy (Jordan Kutts). We could all really relate to Crazy, as we are all a little Crazy these days! A few other new Characters we encountered who deserve a shout out are Cara Coleman (Vampire), Michael Johnson (Scarecrow), and Antonio Beltrom (White Masked Creeper Character in Woods) We can't forget to give a Shout Out to our Clown/Party Friend (Jordan Stieve) who we met inside the Dark Maze. Kudos goes out to The Gatekeeper (Claire Greyling) for putting up with our Groups Scaredy Cat/Goof Ball, as he Gatekeeper kept her in line as we waited to enter the Squeeze Tunnel. The Chainsaw Character Buzzsaw (Keith Sosh) also did an amazing job at hiding and then scaring us unexpectedly! As mentioned above, everyone really did an Amazing job this Season!

  • Customer Service: 10

  • Customer Service was Excellent! Each Staff Member that we encountered during our visit was very Welcoming and made sure we felt right at home! We enjoyed getting to see everyone again and catch up a little. Was great to talk with the Haunts ticket taker (Leila Allen) again as well! The Staff inside the ticket hut/gift shop area are always so Friendly! Can't say it enough, the entire Staff is always Super Friendly!!

  • Scare Rating: 8

  • The scares this Season were a bit toned back, but the ones that we did encounter were for sure ones to remember! We did encounter a few Jump Scares/Startle Scares that really did get us for sure this Season! The Creep Factor seemed to be turned up a notch this Season inside the Woods area. We enjoyed the Characters that stalked us during our entire Journey, as we never knew where or when they were gonna pop up and scare us again!

  • Atmosphere: 9

  • The atmosphere of each scene was nice! There were lots of fine details that went into each scene that had us immersed into the scenes atmosphere for sure! Some of the new scenes we encountered were very detailed! Our journey through the Haunt was the same as last season, which led us through many different buildings, as well as scenes in the woods, and then back into more buildings, which led into semi corn fields. I really love the mix of the different environments that Sinister Tombs has to offer. It always keeps you on your toes! We did encounter one new scene which we did enjoy what was the, which was the Hansel and Gretel scene. We can't wait to see what becomes of this over time.

  • Special Effects: 8

  • Special effects were present during our Journey through the Tomb, but they were very sparse. We did encounter many fog effects, some video effects, as well as 3D elements, and lighting effects during our journey that were very well accomplished. The fog effect in a certain section by far was our Groups favorite part hands down again this Season! We don't want to give away too many details, as we don't want to spoil what lurks inside the Tombs...

  • New Scenes: 7

  • This Season brought one new scene that we noticed right off the bat, which was the Hansel and Gretel House. Some scenes you could tell were still being worked on, but the details were really great so far! The Build/Design Team are doing an amazing job at bringing lots of new and old scenes to life! Keep up the Great Work!

  • Time Inside Haunt: 10

  • Our journey inside the Tomb this Season lasted about 30 minutes. This time can vary depending on if you decide to get lost in a certain section. We feel that the time we spent inside that Haunt was excellent. We were not rushed through the Haunt by any of the Actors at anytime. Each Actor welcomed us into their Home/Scene and allowed us plenty of time to interact when needed to and this allowed us to enjoy the show!
