Overall Score: 9/10
Cast/Actors: 8.5
During our Journey through the Hill of Terror this Season we encountered all sorts of Characters! We did encounter some Monsters that were very leery as to why we were trespassing through their Homes, and some that Welcomed us with open arms...I mean claws, or hands, or well limbs. Being opening weekend we did encounter some actors that were just getting use to the new visitors, and that was totally ok with us!
Customer Service: 9
Customer Service during our visit was very good. Approaching the ticket window we were greeted with a Welcome greeting and were sent on our way to wait for the Zombie Bus, with a "Thanks for Visiting" and "Enjoy the Haunt"! The Bus driver was very kind as well. He made sure that all were safe while on our Journey to the top and that everyone kept their distance. Once it was our turn to enter the Haunt we were given a "Good Luck and Have Fun" by the Staff as well!
Scare Rating: 9
The scares did not vanish this Season!! There was a scare from our group in almost every scene that we encountered a Monster. The Actors did a great job this Season blending in with their surroundings until the right moment and then they got us! We encountered all types of scares as well this season, a few being jump scares, actor scares, and even special effect scares!
Atmosphere: 9.5
The atmosphere this Season was great! Beings that 80% to 85% of the Haunt is outdoors, and the weather was perfect for Haunting, we felt right at home with the Monsters and their surroundings. Each scene that we encountered was highly detailed. Each scene immerses you into a dark and creepy world of the Monsters that live within! Walking through the corn field sections this Season was amazing since we visited opening weekend. The corn had not been torn down any and was very thick and blew in the wind giving us a rustling effect which just set the mood!
Special Effects: 10
Special Effects at the Hill of Terror are always on point!!! This Season the designers did not leave out anything!!! We encountered so many special effects, from horns, explosive noises, pops, video projections, laser lights, fog effects, water effects, and even Flames! Yes I said Flames...in a corn maze! One scene we encountered that involved flames was EPIC and very unique to be placed in a corn field!!!
Value: 10
The value is always worth it! This year we got our moneys worth for sure!!! The wait is well worth it in the end! We walked away again this year very satisfied and can't wait to return!
New Scenes: 8
This Season we didn't notice many new scenes, however we did notice a few things in the scenes that were there last Season had some changes made to them. With the pandemic going on this Season this could have been the reasoning for not so many new scenes or changes, but that did not stop us from enjoying our visit!
Time Inside Haunt: 10
Like last Season we were inside the Haunt about and hour or so. Hill of Terror hands down does such an amazing job at spreading the Haunt out over their 100 acres to make sure you are always entertained during your visit. The Actors allow the Customers to venture at your own pace, so that you can enjoy all that you may encounter during your visit, to insure you don't miss anything!
COVID-19 Safety Protocols: 6.5
The new COVID-19 protocols at Hill of Terror were in effect in some areas, but not enforced. When we approached the Ticket window area there were signs posted giving guests the protocols, but they were not enforced. Getting on the Bus to ride to the top we were asked to sit 6 feet apart from other groups, but we were not asked to wear face masks. Once we made it to the top to get in the que line we noticed that hardly no one was wearing face masks and the 6 feet distance between groups was not being enforced. Some guests were wearing masks but not all. Once we entered the Haunt we did encounter many Actors that were not wearing face masks. Most actors did keep a slight distance from us but some did not, and were not masked up. We did not encounter any hand sanitizer stations either during our visit. These issues that we encountered could change as the Season goes on, since COVID-19 Protocols are very new and always changing this Haunt Season!
