Zach and I arrived to the Haunted Hotel, my first thought was that it was smaller than I imagined it to be but was relieved in a sense.
It was flurrying and chilly and we got in line where an unsuspecting slider dude came running at us. Then an interesting lady came over, I don't know what her character was but we enjoyed her company.
Then an elf with a red sweater who was telling us funny jokes. And a guy who looked like a character out of Nightmare Before Christmas came over where we took pics with him. He remained eerily quiet.
As we entered the building there was loud banging and the front door slid open and a quite aggressive man with a hammer made us stand with our backs to the wall as he explained what was to follow.
We were led to an elevator with a scary deer dude and the ride was quite unsettling to where we had to go to. We were led thru a very dark area and this big creature, maybe a spider grabbed me around the waist with his legs and that gave me a startle.
There was a church area where we were yelled at to kneel! But we didn't. I was scared to! And surprisingly some silly giggly people having a party in the church wearing their ugly Christmas sweaters and festive garb but that took my mind off the fear for a moment!
We were led up some cool stairs where a weird looking chick stared at us with curiosity at the top of the stairs.
There was a room with slumber party girls with a big stuffed bear and a blonde girl with pigtails who stared at me like I was some foreign insect she had never seen before!
There was a room where it looked like someone was tied to the the bed with Christmas lights and we went thru a bathroom where there was what appeared to be a young man who looked like a boy sitting next to a pretty disgusting toilet, and was trying to give us what he called "peppermint ". "Eat the peppermint " he kept saying. We were like no thank you!!
There was a creepy snowman with a long old carroty nose and when I tweaked it he pursued me out the door slowly poking the back of my shoulder continuously.
This distraction did not prepare me for the next altercation, when who, but of all creatures, Krampus with a chainsaw standing in the middle of a hallway and Zach was trying to get me to go down the hallway with him but I so hate chainsaws and Krampus looked pretty darn creepy so I hesitated, but we made a run for it and then it looked like we were nearing the end of this Christmas Nightmare when two other hooligans with chainsaws chased us out onto the sidewalk where people in line were waiting to get tickets and of course they all were looking at us.
We came out full of adrenaline and out of breath but feeling like wow that was so worth the two and half hour drive!! We plan to return next year. Thanks for a wonderful, creepy, spooky experience!!
