Cast/Actors: 8.5
The Cast at Fear Fair are always ready to see everyone return year after year and this year the Monsters were even more excited to meet everyone, even with the current situation going on... The Cast this year was pretty solid for the size crew that we encountered during our Journey through the Haunt. There did seem to be a bit of a lighter Cast this year during our visit however, but that did not make for a bad experience. The Cast that was in the House did an amazing job at giving us the good ol' jump scare a time or two, and each Monster was sure to let it be known that we were in their world. The Cast did an excellent job at blending in with their scenery or hiding in the dark corridors within their rooms and then scaring you at an unexpected moment! Jump scares are always the Best scares!!!
Customer Service: 9
Customer Service was great during our visit. As we entered the new entry gate we were greeted by the gate keepers and asked to do our temp check. Once we were given the all clear we were then greeted by a friendly Midway Roamer (Manon) carrying a baby doll that asked us if we needed tickets. We replied back that we did need tickets and we were then escorted to the ticket booth where we were announced that we had arrived! This was a very unique encounter that I really enjoy when visiting Haunts! Once we were directed to purchase our tickets, the Ticket Staff was very Friendly with us, and was very Welcoming! We were then given our tickets, and sent on our way. We proceeded to get in line for the Haunt but were then asked if we had received a text to enter the Haunt...We were a bit confused as, we were not told that we were to wait on a text to enter the Haunt. The ticket window Staff never told us about this new protocol. The Gentlemen that were at the haunt entrance line were very friendly and helped explain to us the new protocol.
Scare Rating: 8.5
During our Journey through the Haunt we did encounter some good scares. As mentioned above, we encountered many different types of scares. The Actor scares were most likely the best scares we encountered as many of the Actors were hidden within their scenes and jump scared us right at the perfect moment! The Actors within the Haunt do an excellent job as well blending in with the pneumatic props by standing perfectly still till the right moment. We did also encounter many pneumatic scares this Season which were good as well, some old and some new.
Atmosphere: 9
The atmosphere inside the Haunt is always AMAZING!!!! The design team does an awesome job at making sure that ever room you encounter makes you feel as if you are in another world or time period. The details of the sets are so unique, and elaborate that they feel like they have been there for decades! The special effects in some of the rooms also help set the atmosphere of the room you are walking through as well.
Special Effects: 8
During our visit we encountered a few different special effects. The special effects we encountered included video effects, pneumatic effects, lighting effects, and smoke/haze effects. We did notice that there weren't as many special effects as Season's past. During our Journey through we did notice the audio being down/off in certain locations, this did make our Journey through the Haunt seem far more creepier for sure!
Value: 10
The value is always well worth it! We are never let down when it comes to being scared and having fun as well during our visit! We visit the Haunt every Season that we can and travel from Louisville, KY and never walk away un impressed!
New Scenes: 8
This year the Haunt has built an amazing new Entrance Facade into the Haunt. The new Entrance is Breathtaking! Pictures can be seen below for reference. As far as new scenes inside the Haunt, we didn't really seem to encounter brand new sets. We did notice some rooms may have had a different path you travel through tat certain space, but that was it.
Time Inside Haunt: 8.5
Our Journey through the Haunt this Season took about 45 minutes to complete. We really did enjoy every moment of it as well! We greatly enjoyed the relaxed pace that we were allowed to take our Journey this Season. Many Haunts tend to rush visitors through scenes and push you from one room to the next, but Fear Fair did not do that this season, and we Thank You for that! We were able to enjoy each rooms detail and interact more with the inhabitants this Season.
COVID-19 Safety Protocols: 10
Fear Fair did an excellent job at enforcing/incorporating the new COVID-19 protocols into their Haunt this season hands down! Masks must be worn at all times while on the property and signs are posted as well stating the new protocols. As guests walk into the new entry gates they are asked to take their temperature with a hands free temp checking device, the first that we have seen at any Haunt we have visited so far. Once given the all clear you are then asked to proceed to the Ticket window to "Check In" and or get added to the Virtual Que. Fear Fair has incorporated a new Text Message based Virtual Que that allows quests to venture around the midway or sit in their car till it is time for them to Journey through the Haunt, instead of waiting in a crowded actual que line. This awesome new addition was very convenient, and again was the first time we had seen this being used at a Haunt that we have visited this Season thus far. Before entering the Haunt you are once again given the new COVID rules of the House, and are told that this year's event is a no touch experience for yours and the Actors safety. Hand sanitizer stations are spread out all over the Haunt grounds and as you enter the Haunt. All Staff and Actors were wearing face coverings and all Actors kept a safe distance between themselves and our group. Fear Fair did an awesome job at making sure their Visitors & Staff were Safe this Season for sure!
